Site: Portsmouth

Hourly Rate: £11.15 plus 20% shift premium

Shift: Double Days (5.50am – 2pm, 1.50pm – 10pm)

Job Function & Key Tasks

• Prepare tools for production (Tool Hanger)
• Mould machine Operator
• Proxy cover – To work as Materials Handler as necessary

Principle Responsibilities

• To safety prepare tools – locate, load, connect – for handover to the setters
• Too assist production in any tooling/moulding machine related matters as necessary
• To collect and return tooling to storage areas and update our system to show location
• Keep tooling, presses and ancillary areas clean, tidy and organised in accordance with 6S methodology
• Operate Moulding machines as required
• Able to enter accurately data onto our system for mouldings produced and scrapped
• Ensure the mouldings produced are to the quality standard required
• Adhere and follow the work instructions
• Act as a stand in for, or assist, the Materials Handlers when required
• Any other reasonable task as specified by the Management team

Health and Safety Responsibilities

All employees have a responsibility for Health and Safety whilst at work. As an employee at Formaplex, you are responsible for;

• Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of yourself and that of other persons whom may be affected by your actions
• Co-operating with Formaplex on all matters relating to health, safety and welfare by observing all relevant policies, procedures, safety systems of working and safety signs
• Ensuring the use of all safety related guards, control measures, and wearing of personal protective equipment at all times (where appropriate)
• Reporting of all accidents, incidents and reporting any failings as necessary, or bring to the attention of the Health & Safety Manager

Skills and Experience

• PC literate – MS Office/Javelin (preferred, but will be trained if necessary)
• Forklift, reach truck, WNA, counterbalance (preferred, but will be trained as necessary)
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills
• Previous experience in a production/manufacturing environment (essential)
• Overhead crane licence (preferred, but will be trained as necessary)
• Highly flexible, dynamic, motivated, and independent
• Effective time management skills working with tight timescales to meet production/manufacturing needs
