Formaplex has been involved in composites and tooling design since 2001. This enables us to provide assistance to ‘special projects’ as they strive for ‘light-weighting’ in a bid to increase efficiency and performance. We provide a complete composite component design and manufacture service, including in and out‐of‐autoclave tooling solutions, wet layup, infusion and prepreg laminates. Our climate controlled clean room conforms to NADCAP level 8 requirements and our large 6m x 3m diameter autoclave will accommodate some of the largest components.
We are experienced in providing fast aluminium compression mould tooling solutions for the manufacture of composite components, and supplying CNC machined complex part geometries in aluminium and composites. With 44 CNC milling machines comprising the latest 3 & 5 axis technologies, and with a range of machining envelopes up to 8m x 6.2m x 2m, operating 24/7, we have the capabilities to undertake a wide variety of design projects, such as machining large components within a time critical delivery schedule.
We have the capacity and capability to machine prototype or one off complex components. Whether its a single metal or plastic component, a package of aluminium and composite tooling, master pattern, a clay model or machined composite component, we can provide the machining solution. Experienced operators prepare, finish, polish and inspect machined surfaces within a fully certified quality assurance system, ensuring components meet the highest standards.
